Omnicap Group LLC and Women in Public Finance Los Angeles Chapter 2024-25 Scholarship Program: 

As students continue to learn in a hybrid/remote environment, we believe it is important and valuable to stay connected with our future female leaders. We would like to kick start our annual scholarship opportunity and provide TWO recipients with a $2,500 reward ahead of the Fall.

Scholarship and Award Overview

The purpose of the Omnicap Group LLC and Women in Public Finance – Los Angeles Chapter scholarship program is to:

1. Recognize college-bound female high school seniors or female students currently in college who have exhibited scholastic achievement and demonstrated leadership skills.
2. Encourage the consideration of careers in finance and, more specifically, public finance.
3. Provide an opportunity for award recipients to meet women established in the public finance industry and learn about various career options and opportunities available to them.

Application

To qualify and apply for the Scholarship and Award, the applicant must, at a minimum:

1. Be a female, high school senior or college student who either lives or attends school within Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties);
2. Intends to attend college in the Fall of 2024;
3. Have at least a 3.0 GPA, or equivalent;
4. Exhibit leadership skills through extracurricular activities, volunteer positions, and/or work experience;
5. Have an interest in pursuing a public finance related career in finance, government, nonprofits, or law;
6. Complete and submit the 2024 Scholarship application form, the required essays and a photocopy of your most recent unofficial high school transcript via e-mail to [email protected] so that the application is RECEIVED no later than 6:00 PM (Pacific Time) on June 30, 2024.
   

Selection and Recognition

Omnicap Group LLC and WPF will select up to two recipients based on the qualifications of the candidate as demonstrated by the completed application and submitted essays. The scholarship recipient will be notified early August 2024. The recipient will be awarded a scholarship in an amount of $2,500. The scholarship will be paid in the form of a check payable to each award recipient.

The award recipient/s, along with a parent, guardian, or teacher, will be invited to accept the scholarship and recognition at the Women in Public Finance – Los Angeles Chapter Quarterly Meeting to be held in December. (Note: Attendance at the Quarterly Meeting is not required to receive the scholarship). Omnicap Group LLC and WPF may also elect to conduct phone interviews as part of the selection process.
